This is a perfect place
to have great food, wine and excellent service. They serve Italian, Thai and
Chef menus. Foie Gras with a well-balanced papaya sauce, raw
tuna as appetizers, delicious snow fish in risotto and Australian steak with
porcini – all these are from the Chef’s specialty menu. The
meal was served with a local fruit salad with vanilla ice
cream. White wine and a lemoncello are served to end the
delectable meal. Price tag: 5,000 Baht for two persons.
The Boathouse in Kata Beach.
This has been a culinary landmark in Phuket for more than twenty years.
Fantastic location and exceptional food and wine – this Phuket restaurant serves
French and Thai cuisine. A perfect dinner could be a “pan
seared duck foie gras poele with chanterelle mushrooms” to go with a sweet
Jurancon Famille Castel 2009 French wine; “open ravioli with rock lobster
shellfish and morel sauce” served with Chablis Premier Cru Montee de Tonnerre,
Domain Droin French wine; “lamb loin with cepes mushrooms” with a red Chateau
Ferrande, Graves 2007; and a “crispy almond Napoleon cake with green apple
sherbet, with a sweet Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, Domaine des Bernardins, 2005.
Four course menu with selected wine at 3,400 Baht.
This is a well-known Italian restaurant by the beach. It has an impressive wine
list and delicious Italian dishes on the menu. They serve beef
Carpaccio with Truffle, Caprese Revisited, Lamb and Fusilli Bolognese, and a
chocolate mousse for dessert. Expect to shell out 2,500 Baht
per person without drinks.
La Gritta at Amari Coral Beach Resort
Phuket.
This is an Italian restaurant at Amari
Coral Beach Resort in Patong Beach. Menu includes beef
carpaccio, clam chowder soup, black ravioli lobster and a risotto with
mushrooms, and apple tart for dessert. A selection of gourmet
pizzas, handmade pastas, delectable desserts and a good selection of wines are
also included.

The restaurant is
Thai contemporary. Food is essentially Thai with some international dishes.
Specialties include Tuna Tartar - fresh local tuna with ginger,
chili and coriander, with cucumber relish and crisp garlic crostini; Shrimp
Martini – shrimp, avocado and tomato salsa in a refreshing blend with crispy
wontons; and smoked pork back ribs glazed with 360⁰ BBQ sauce.
For dessert, dark chocolate fondue.
Mom Tri’s Kitchen at Villa Royale.
The hotel is
famous for its restaurant – Mom Tri’s Kitchen. Wine lovers and foodies will
savor any in their great selection of 700 wines and 15 wines served by the
glass. Two exuberant menus offer delicious Thai and European creations - hot
crab soufflé, light and savoury appetisers, tuna carpaccio, Phuket lobster and
Angus beef tenderloin. It is expensive but definitely great
for special occasions.
