Celebrities do have a
different idea of parties and celebrations. While others like it grand, some
insist on being private and intimate with only a few guests – but in a private
island elsewhere, with every guest flown in from wherever they were originating
from. That’s how celebrities throw their private parties – in style! Some of
the most lavish and extravagant parties thrown in by some of the famous
Hollywood celebrities some years back are below:
Sean Combs. The man also known as Puff
Daddy or P Diddy threw a party for his 40th birthday in 2009 costing him a
whopping $3 million. The extravagant party was held at the Grand
Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel along 5th Avenue in New York. It was a
black and white theme and was sponsored by the rapper’s own vodka firm. It
featured a tiered black and white birthday cake that had his initials on
the shield. Another $28,000 was forked out to spend for white orchids used
to adorn the ballroom.
Simon Cowell. Cowell threw a party for his
50th birthday in his mansion at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire.
Cowell had 400 people in attendance. They all arrived in chauffeured
limousines that Cowell paid for. A sumptuous meal of fancy chicken soup,
shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, prawns, apple pie and lobster, martinis
were served to the guests. There was also a shark tank in the place. Rat
Pack impersonators were also hired. All of this cost Cowell a mere $2.5
million.
Naomi Campbell. The supermodel celebrated her
40th birthday in a super party at
the French Riviera, where her guests were all flown in for a weeklong
celebration. The party was held at the Eden Roc Hotel with a
different theme every night, like an all-white night, hip hop night and
Brazilian samba motif party. Total cost of the party is estimated to be at
$1.8 million.
Paris Hilton. On her 21st birthday, she decided to stage
a party in five venues around the world. She celebrated in style by
partying in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tokyo and London. She
had to cough up $75,000 per guest just to make sure that the party keeps
going.
Mariah Carey. On her 40th birthday, the
sultry singer decided she wanted to have an intimate party with selected
and closest friends in attendance. So, she and her husband invited 11 of
their closest friends for some dinner and cake – in Barbados, with
Carey flying everyone to the island on a private jet. And the cake was
flown in from New York City.
Chanel Iman. The Victoria’s Secret model’s
21st birthday party was held in a private
island in Jamaica with her closest friends of legal age attending the
celebration. The party featured a reggae theme and no doubt had
free-flowing alcohol.
